Welcome to Thunderbird Preschool

Founded in 1965, Thunderbird Preschool is a family-owned preschool in Crystal Lake, IL with a reputation for excellence in early childhood education. Throughout the years, we have worked to develop warm, long-lasting relationships with both children and families. We are proud to welcome back many alumni each year and currently serve 2nd and 3rd generation families. Thunderbird Preschool is committed to providing caring, fun, and interactive early childhood learning experiences in Crystal Lake, IL.

We provide half-day preschool programs for children ages 2-5. To help each child grow physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively, we place an emphasis on hands-on learning. In addition, our field trips and special events provide families with opportunities to take part in the learning process. All of our teachers are DCFS teacher-qualified and complete CPR & First Aid training annually.

It was hard for our daughter to transition into staying at school without one of the parents. Thunderbird was exceedingly understanding and caring through the whole process, allowing us and our daughter to take the time needed to adjust without forcing her into a situation she wasn't ready for. It's her second year at TB and she loves it there. We have had nothing but positive experiences! Highly recommend!

Our family's experience with Thunderbird Preschool has been completely positive. Mrs. Koch and all the teachers truly care about the kids and really enjoy what they are doing. They do a great job of working with the class as a whole, as well as addressing students' individual needs. They are very good at communicating with the parents, and making school a fun experience for the whole family. Our daughter has learned so much at Thunderbird. We know she will be well-prepared for Kindergarten, because of the positive learning experience she has had at Thunderbird.

I have 2 daughters that went to Thunderbird Preschool back to back for 4 years. I have nothing but nice things to say about Thunderbird. We've had all positive experiences with all the teachers and administrators. Everyone took the time to get to know our family, and made my daughters feel safe and comfortable.
