Celebrating Over 60 Years of Early Educational Excellence
Founded in 1965, Thunderbird Preschool is a family-owned preschool in Crystal Lake, IL with a reputation for excellence in early childhood education. Throughout the years, we have worked to develop warm, long-lasting relationships with both children and families. We are proud to welcome back many alumni each year and currently serve 2nd and 3rd generation families. Thunderbird Preschool is committed to providing caring, fun, and interactive early childhood learning experiences in Crystal Lake, IL.
We provide half-day preschool programs for children ages 2-5. To help each child grow physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively, we place an emphasis on hands-on learning. In addition, our field trips and special events provide families with opportunities to take part in the learning process. Our teachers are DCFS teacher-qualified and complete CPR and First Aid training annually.
Seniors will be visiting the Prairie View Education Center to learn about animal homes in the woods. Please see class calendars for specific days and times.
Thunderbird will be collecting donations for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive sponsored by the US Postal Service.
Children will enjoy art and science activities in all 3 classrooms on Art and Science Day.
Families are invited to join us to celebrate the end of the school year at our family picnics. Please check class calendars for specific dates and times.
Great school, great teachers who become family. Can’t recommend Thunderbird Preschool enough.
Thunderbird is beyond words. You feel the love every day. Our daughter LOVES her family here and has built so many friendships. You, as a parent, feel a part of the family and in the loop at all times.
The teachers are absolutely incredible! They are not only knowledgeable and professional but also incredibly caring and patient.
Thunderbird is absolutely the best! Betty Koch (the owner) and Tina Young (the school director) as well as the whole teaching staff are wonderful. My son loves Thunderbird. He’s made many friends and enjoys all the field trips and experiences he has had there.
