About Thunderbird

Founded in 1965, Thunderbird Preschool is a family-owned preschool in Crystal Lake, IL with a reputation for excellence in early childhood education. Throughout the years, we have worked to develop warm, long-lasting relationships with both children and families. We are proud to welcome back many alumni each year and currently serve 2nd and 3rd generation families. Thunderbird Preschool is committed to providing caring, fun, and interactive early childhood learning experiences in Crystal Lake, IL.

Our Preschool Programs

We provide half-day preschool programs for children ages 2-5. To help each child grow physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively, we place an emphasis on hands-on learning. In addition, our field trips and special events provide families with opportunities to take part in the learning process. Our teachers are DCFS teacher-qualified and complete CPR and First Aid training annually.

SPRING BREAK 3/23 - 3/27

Thunderbird will be closed March 23rd – March 27th for Spring Break.

NO SCHOOL 4/3

Friday, April 3rd will be a day of non-attendance.

SENIOR/SUPER 5's FIELD TRIP TO THE RAUE 4/8

Senior and Super 5’s classes will be viewing a stage performance of “Pete the Cat” on Wednesday, April 8th. Please see class calendars for specific times.

VIP DAY 4/18

Juniors, Seniors, and Super 5’s and one Very Important Person in their life are invited for an hour of fun on Saturday, April 18th. Please see April calendars for specific class times.

JUNIOR FIELD TRIP 4/27, 4/28, 4/29

Juniors will be visiting Hephzibah Farms April 27, 28, and 29 to learn about the animals. Please see class calendars for specific days and times.
